    Just posted this on SS...

    Looking for opinions.

    ---

All sorts of arguments for and against a re-think on Uranium mining by the WA government...

Times change, attitudes change and with a little luck, people become a little more informed about the pro's and con's of the debate...remember, people once said that "automobiles" would never replace the horse!

As I see it, if the WA oposition were to go to the next election with a policy platform based on jobs creation...in particular, one that is pro mining and designed to address many of the bottlenecks currently affecting WA's ability to take full advantage of the resources boom...it would have a very good chance of forming government.

It is my opinion...and also that of many people far more learned than myself...that such a pro-mining stance would also include a limited easing of the existing ban on uranium mining and exploration.

Remember, RPT see their WA assetts as a long term one.

Even if the state government were to do a complete turn-around tomorrow and approve Uranium mining, it would still be many years before RPT could actually get anything out of the ground. For this reason, today's particular "stance" by the WA governemt , although obviously important, really has less effect on RPT's future potential than many people might think.

What will have the greatest impact on the shareprice however, is what the market thinks might be this "stance" 4-6 years from now...so in the meantime, RPT can do much of the preparatory work, in the hope of a change in government and accompanying change in policy, or that the current mob eventually come to their senses.

Public opinion is a powerful force...but how do we educate the public?

    Cheers!
