In your case they were "slanderous accusations" in my cas eit is factual reporting.

Sure, everyone probably wants the board removed, but at what cost? If someone purposely grinds the sp to ensure the SPP fails, then you can forget about any future drilling and will see the company move closer to its death bed, resulting in those 12.7 million shares worth little more than a bag of potato chips.

So what your saying is that a person who manages to roll a board is destroying his own shareholding value.

That may well be right in the short term, but I presume that such a person would expect to see the SP back up once a new board is elected,and accordingly the value of his own shareholding. So he/she/it may well consider the end justifies the means.

Remember , the assets dont change , only how the company gets managed.
