My logic says he should sell and gain the profit now before it diminishes into a loss. Renting in the short term for a year or so will also allow him to buy in much cheaper down the track. But then again what the hell do I know cos I have been renting for the last 4 years. I suppose the time I spent in real estate from 1994 till 2007 does give me some insight into how a market works.
