    hMMMMMMMM....Dont forget Coal produces arsenic as a by product and is responsible for 3 million deaths annually - some people are just ignorant and dont research before passing judgement- but when we have a nuclear disaster like fukushima everyone goes nuts- many many more people die on roads than from a nuclear disaster which seems to occur once in 25 years approx- once the nuclear industry tightens regulations then it may become even more safer for future generations

    There are3 options for Base load electrical energy- baseload= "the capacity of the electrical industry to instantaneously supply 24/7 electricity on demand when demand increases
    Solar/ gethothermal and wind cannot achieve this.
    Hydro/fossel fuel and nucleur can only meet the high demand of the base load- when nucleur power plants are closed down they are replaced with fossel fuel plants- not wind or solar.

    Impact on environment of long term fossel fuel burning is catastrophic.. Greenhouse gas emmissions dramatically rise. Electricity demand will probably double by 2030. The world uses more electricity each year If we continue fossel fuel will provide most of new electricilty
    Amount of energy generated In the USA cones from Coal 39% gas 19% oil 7 % hydro16% nucleur 17% and all others 2%
    In essence Energy is generated by burning something. Essentially the process is boiling water producing steam under pressure the steam causes turbine blades to turn, spinning coils past magnets to produce a streem of electrons along a wire. That's electricity!
    One uranium fuel pellet weighing 7 grams of uranium oxide. Approx 7 grams 143 pellets makes 1 kilogram
    1 kg oil for 4 kw hours verses 1kg uranium for 50,000 kw hours.
    Way more concentrated than any other energy source.
    Uranium Gas ommisions greatly reduced and lower than wind/ solar power emmissions whick produce greenhouse gasses.
    Volume of waste from coal verses nucleur. Fossel fuel combustion produces 27 billion tonnes co2 yearly in the world. Solidified would make a base of 6 miles in circumference Compared to Nucleur waste produces 14 thousand
    tonnes of solid waste would occupy a cube of about 18 meteres. Waste is always shielded.
    If all of electricity for entire life of individual average life span 77 years the nucleur waste would fit in a coke can verses waste from coal, you would be responsible for 69 tones of solid waste and 77 tonnes of co2.
    Coal waste statistics are so staggering.
    51% of our electricity comes from coal fired plants. Solid waste from coal combustion gives gives off arsnic, mercury lead and other toxins.
    Health impacts of coal= 24, 000 people die from coal pollution per year -china 400,000 people die per year from coal pollution. Globally 3 million people die annually from coal pollution
    WHO (world health organisation) have estimated indoor- outdoor air pollution from fossel fuel burning causes some 3 million deaths globally per annum

    There is alot of ignorance about low dose radiation- we live in an ocean of radiation - salt beds hVe extreme low natural radioactivity- then parts of the world like Iran where there is alot of radium in the soil and water and very highly radioactive - most of our human exposure to radiation is from radon which comes from rocks like uranium and thorium and sea waters high in uranium content which washes off the continents and into the ocean.
    Then there is cosmic radiation from solar system which is a higher dosage at higher altitudes

    Low dose radiation: A millirum is a measure of biological damage to living tissue from radiation exposure. less than 10,000 millirum there is no scientific basis to confirm wheter damage occurs or not. Hard to know the effects of low dose radiation because of all the noise of natural background radiation.
    Recent research on low dose radiation found that it can stimulate the DNA repair mechanism. This shows how we evolved so radiation played a role in how our DNA developed and helps our immune system.
    The panel on biological effects of isionising radiation calls for more low dose radiation research that panel upholds and mitigates standards and advises congress of their findings!

    National committe on radiation protection announced Average dose per person 300 millirum per year for medical radiation and same for natural background radiation.
    If u smoke 2 packs of cigarettes per day then yearly you have a dose to lungs of 8, 000- 20,000 millrum.
    Living next to a uranium nucleur power plant for a year gives off less millirem than eating one banana . A banana emmits more radiation (0.01millirem) than living next to a nucleur power plant (0.009millirem) for 1year.
