Even though it's really moving off topic those that curse the nature of shorting equities really does my head in it's been with the market since day dot & plays it's critical role although naked shorting I can acknowledge is abused by some & should be shackled. However shorting removes inefficacys in a stocks valuation & has been responsible for bringing to light many companies failures before they became public knowledge I guess James Chanos with Enron was really a high profile example. In all though really it brings stocks to fair value & in times of turmoil supports the price with those covering positions often the only people to prepared to buy when the worlds on the edge. If you are angry that the price has been dragged lower & you blame those short selling maybe you should then thank them so you can buy them at what's claimed to be gutted prices from their actions, otherwise it's also a good time to run the ruler back over the company again just to double check how it stands.
