In todays Sun-Herald Sydney there are interesting ideas on stock selection for the immediate future. They are based on the work of Michael Porter an economics professor at Harvard.
He studies the market industry by industry.
He singles out ;
(1) Competition both local and global. The more competition the worse for SP upsizing
(2) ability to substitue products and services
(3) Bargaining power of suppliers
(4) Barriers to entry gfor competitors
JBWere Goldman Sachs used this model ti investigate the ASX for value going forward.
at the end od day top marks went to TCL and MIG and not far behind was MAP.
with growing adulaltion over the MBL business model , the true value of MIG will be uncovered . at least I hope so
