Well...lets look at this under the catch22 situation.
Lets suppose that ALL Directors etc did purchase shares from the SPP. I imagine there would have been an uproar from shareholders along the lines "the greedy Directors took shares and denied ordinary shareholders the chance to aquire more"


Now because you suggest they didn't, you are now saying it looks bad.

Catch22. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
