re: Ann: JB HI-FI NOW to change the way Austr... I am definately biased as I have traded and now have held JBH over a period of time. The Adelaide St, Brisbane store is always busy when I visit, and the staff very upbeat about the company. All good signs. RM has sold out and now has some negative sentiment. This is surprising, given his quite recent valuations. The 'profit downgrading' from Terry Smart was mainly in regards to soft sales- particularly related to TV panel discounting by competitors- in the first quarter. The impact on EPS is negligible due to the 10.8 mill share buy back in May.

More recently- on the 13th dec, MQG took a 5% stake in the company, and UBS-A increased their holding from 6.8% to 8.2%. Looks to me like the slide is an over-reaction based on heavy shorting,and general bearish sentiment in the market, which leads to people expecting the worst, and which should be followed by an inevitable re-bound as bargain hunters step in.Dividend yeild is still strong and half year results will be out in mid Feb 2012. Of course though- I hold stock.
