Ben - The company's explanation in their most recent announcement is basically to keep the share price and shares on issue in line with their peers. I also believe it is also along the lines of what I stated in my previous post.
Some posters here argue that it could have a downward impact on the share price once implemented and I don't disagree with this, but I also think the long term will be much more beneficial to the share price post consolidation.
