I am reading the same things Y, in international news sources primarily. The mainstream Australian press is very Orwellian at the moment regarding the potential for serious problems in sectors of China's economy translating to reduced demand for our commodities. A year ago the mainstream press loved to talk about Chinese growth forever, now the so called experts sagely refer to how the Politburo will nicely engineer a "soft landing", whatever that means. I assume they put forward this argument as the alternative is too unpleasant to contemplate.

Side note - I always love how western capitalists have eternal faith that ~10 guys in Beijing are so omnipotent that they can ensure China continues on forever in growth, and hence demanding our resources. It is funny because western capitalists, in economics 101, would always learn that command type economies are terrible, as they cannot react the way the market can. But when we need China to grow forever for our economic health, all of a sudden parts of the command economy suddenly seem wonderful and omnipotent.
