    Hi GSE

Yes - it is difficult to put a broad brush over things when it comes to property. Obviously, some areas, cities & regions are suffering to certain degrees and others are kicking goals.

I was listening to a RE radio show this morning (Sydney) and it was obvious to me that some areas are seemingly doing quite well. I specialise in a certain part of Sydney so I can't confirm the above info at first hand though.

As you say, a majority of owners are not too worried about the overall market (some are though) and just go about doing their thing and the market can look after itself.

Good luck in the move from the ' humpy ' :) But you know, a humpy can be a great home and the so called 'nice house ' can sometimes never be a home.

The share market has been a horror this year but there has been some nice ' nuggets ' of gold for some - just like property.

Disclosure - I did not find too many nuggets (well, not of gold anyway) in the share market this year.

    Merry Xmas and good luck
