Below are my speculations only. If you don't agree then treat it as entertainment. Mod please don't ban me.

I'm no expert in mining but would think if there's issue on the technical side (i.e. what's in the ground) then the auditors would have picked it up much earlier as they spent much longer than the DD team on the project (correct me if I'm wrong). I suspect that McSweeny and malay have gone off different tangents as I again suspect McSweeny talked MWE into this deal and malay didn't want it from the start. So MWE's move pissed off the malays and they want McSweeny out now! Instead of stating that AVI didn't want the money anymore, MWE stated that DD didn't pass to save face (who's face? everyone's).

My suggestion to the malays at this stage would be to get rid of McSweeny and put the $$$ in to dilute at higher prices in the meantime. Regardless whoever takes control, one does not want to upset public holders too much. If malays were smart, they would raise at 9c after taking control. Asians prefer harmony than hostility although that normally happens after one side wins.
