Thanks for that. Adds to my contention that the Planning and Environment Court may have been provided with misleading information about the significance of this incident. And I also wonder - do things continue to remain rotten in the state of Queensland? Surely not. It might help though if the judiciary were required to acquire a grounding in the scientific method. And in particular a working knowledge of science-based statistics as well as Main Stream Media statistics might be helpful as would some comprehension of how to perform and evaluate a risk analysis in an unbiased fashion. Their understanding of these skills should be subject to yearly testing by academic statisticians (unbiased by definition) in order to keep them up to speed.
