Sally, just did a quick Travelocity search on flights from Sydney to London. I chose flexible dates, cheapest overall fare. The cheapest was Emirates at $US1170 return, however that's a connecting service, not same plane. Next was Austrian, and in 3rd place was Qantas, at $1261 return, same plane service. The same price was offered by BA and Virgin. SIA didn't even make the list. A separate search restricted just to SIA yielded their cheapest fare... $US1717 return. And of course it's a connecting service, not same-plane... No doubt cheaper fares are available however you'd agree that the QAN fare is competitive.
