I've often wondered if it would be feasable for ASIC/ASX to monitor more closely some of these smaller type exploration companies. Something like a oversight commitee which evaluates each and every decision of a small company and if it finds something fishy it can remove the CEO or direct the CEO to change direction. This would act more in the interests of the shareholders and hopefully lead to many more successful exploration mining companies on the ASX.
The oversight commitee would be populated with those who have had management experience in previously successful companies and could pass on their knowledge.
Perhaps once a company is mining and selling ore the oversight commitee could be terminated.
