JF - I thought I was pretty clear that I wasn't directly comparing present day devices with the devices used back in the 1950s; obviously there have been many improvements, notably in miniaturization and economy of manufacture making possible single use devices.

My point was that this is not a new thing "under the sun;" the concept has been around. Nevertheless, as a delivery system it is subject to the same drug by drug approval process as any other drug delivery system, viz TPM.

The device in question (I'm not sure whose it is) has existing present day direct competitors, and in any case is only an indirect competitor to POH. Personally, I welcome any new technology that offers the possibility of reducing the trauma of injections.
