I would say it is a sub group issue and a cultural issue.The other groups from martu have lodged objections against interference on other lakes such as Waukarlikarli and Percival. this decision affects those objections. Only certain authorised people can talk for these. The members of the WDLAC corporation are only members. The power of veto comes from the senior law people.Until you see their signatures in consent such as the two male elders at Cotton Creek who have opposed this project on cultural reasons the common law holders cant give consent otherwise they would be overiding the law mens decision. The lake has business specific to men and women cannot speak for that.That would be a serious cultural error and would undermine the law and culture.A vote of WDLAC members by consensus would allow women to vote for mens business. this is not according to law and culture.
