Recent advertisements in SEEK aim to recruit a Project Manager for an emerging mid-tier copper producer in the Queensland area. This may or may not be related to QMN however it might explain the absence of announcements for the month of December 2011. From what I can determine only twice in the history of QMN have we seen a whole month pass without an announcement, those being February 2009 and December 2011.
My interpretation is that they are preoccupied with feasibility studies or front end design proposals. Alternatively, they may be simply taking time to double check the media releases for quality before they are released to the market. In either case it’s good news for all QMN shareholders.
In the late 90’s Brian was involved with Straits Resources who at that stage purchased Nifty copper mine from Western Mining Corporation. The transition of ownership caused some production quality issues which were quickly overcome and that in itself demonstrates QMN now have people on board that know how to make copper at LME grade.
I think 2012 will be very interesting to say the least and potentially very profitable for those who persisted. With the core assets in the QMN portfolio it’s only a matter of time before they hit the right note with investors, I believe it’s inevitable.
