I don't profess to know if ALL Martu elders are in unanimous agreement about ANYTHING

My suspicion is that the Martu society is like any other society ... there are various opinions on everything [ although it does seem at times that HotCopper 'society' can't tolerate a diversity of opinion]

All I said was that senior Martu people have been quoted as saying that they are looking toward economic participation to better the lot of their people.

Make of that whatever you like.

My personal opinion is that it doesn't have to be a choice of one OR the other.

The condition of a heritage survey is no different or more alarming than you putting in a building application to your local government.
The local gov, doing its job, checks the application against other issues to ensure the project does not impinge ... due diligence I guess is the concept
