(The larger context of this story is that Clinton’s America, because of his inaction most likely due to the fiasco in Somalia, shares along with the UN the blame for the Rwandan massacres).

    HAS WOLFOWITZ GONE MAD?

There is a news report that on a trip to Rawanda, former Under Secretary of Defense and current President of the World Bank , Paul Wolfowitz apologized for the international community having allowed the slaughter that took place in Rawanda.

Undoubtedly Wolfowitz had some political reason for distorting the history of the Rawanda genocide. The fact is that the United Nations and in particular Kofi Annan are responsible for the deaths that occurred.

UN military forces were prepared to intercede to stop a massacre but Annan refused to give the go ahead. An excellent review of this sad incident can be found in Dore Gold's Tower of Babble.
Wolfowitz would have done a public service by laying the blame where it belongs. Instead he has become a party to a cover-up and his apology is meaningless.
When will the politicians gain the courage to demand that Annan pay for his crimes? The other day, more evidence appears to have surfaced that links Annan to the Oil for Food scandal.
Enough is enough. Annan should be sent to retirement.
