    lu888,

Surely you realize and understand that even you, have only been receiving employer paid compulsory superannuation payments for barely 20 years.
In a previous post you mentioned you have worked for 30 years, so unless you were contributing to your own super in your first 10 years of working, it is little wonder that with only perhaps 20 years of contributions Australian's are still short. That is normal or do you want miracles?

The GFC and the current world economy problems have not made things any easier.
I don't really know what your beef is but it seems on one hand, you think you should be entitled to non means tested Australian pension simply because you worked and paid taxes for 30 years and by my rough calculations, unless you have made good provision for your retirement, you will have to keep working for some years yet.

Don't be fooled by what some European's might tell you about their great retirement benefits etc. They are deep in the turds for many, many reasons, one of which is many of them avoided tax.
You appear to have a self managed fund (if i understand correctly) but then you complain that you had to pay tax on the profits made by your fund and that it is not easy making the profit because one needs to shuffle and move the money? Well hello lu888, c'est la vie!
Better to make profits and pay taxes than having a negative fund.

Anyway, I wish you many more profits in 2012/2013
