"Robert Hill said there was no evidence Mr Wood was to be released and that the precise circumstances might forever remain a mystery"

Typical ministerial doublespeak. No evidence that he was to be released...when? today, tomorrow.... nothing was in writing?... It's meaningless. How in heaven's name could the details of such an event, with all of the allied intelligence and folks on the ground remain a mystery? The concept is ridiculous.

Re Wood himself. The man was there as a private individual, not as a government employed officer. He is essentially, a war profiteer making large sums of money each day out of the destruction that has been perpetrated by the Coalition. Yet the Australian govt must have spent a very large sum of money sending its special team over to help him escape. It's therefore obscene that he should seek to make a profit out of selling his story....
