I understand what you are saying and no I do not expect profits straight away. Jetstar Asia was earmarked to be profitable long before now but still is not.
Qantas has long established ties with numerous Asian ports, why not spend the money on the premium brand and make it better? Short answer, cheaper labor and more bonuses and pay for executives because they have slashed costs. What are we left with, a non-Australian carrier that pretends to be Australian, workforce expertise lost to OS and numerous unemployed in Australia.
You pro Asian strategy guys/girls never want to admit that QAN has been very profitable in the past whilst based in Australia with the same full-time staff and can be again.
