"have problems with power generation being in the hands of private companies who can hold the public hence government to ransom."

Varanus happened under the present government run power supply system.

All called the labor government as incompetents brucey, but heres the rub.

The special christmas tree valve that took sixteen weeks to make, cant be sheeted home at labor.

Just like a spare tyre, the libs under Charlie & co,should have either stipulated Apache carry one as a spare,or the libs should have paid for one themselves.

I suspect no-one wanted an $8.5 million valve just sitting there gathering dust now did they.

Just another titanic event,it cant happen to us mentality.

As Apache called a "force majeure" after the Varanus debacle, you are aware Alcoa is suing them, arent you.

In a writ lodged last week in the WA Supreme Court, Alcoa alleged Apache and its partners failed to prevent corrosion on the gas pipeline that ruptured. It claims they undertook no maintenance or repair activities on the onshore part of the pipeline between 1992 and the explosion.

The US aluminium company says that because of this, Apache's inability to supply contracted gas could not be declared a force majeure event, where liability is limited due to events outside a party's control.

We dont need one power supplier brucey,we need several,to avoid these types of issues.

Just as the state government does now, they can offset pensioners power bills, even if there in private suppliers hands.

My only prediliction is righting erroneous lib claptrap brucey, theres several lib posters here full of it,are you auditioning?.
