Mr Guillermou "revealed that they wanted to build Total's first floating LNG plant in Australia... I would like to make the first Total floating LNG in Australia. So find me - that's what I said to the team - find me a good location and we will go on a floating LNG".
"One of Total's key ambitions is to run and develop its own LNG project in Australia, rather than participate as a minority partner as in GLNG (Gladstone) and Ichthys (Darwin)" said Mike Sangster head of the Australian business.
"if we find something else that has got the right criteria we would like to go ahead."
Total has operated in Australia since 2005.
No environmental problems 30 miles over-the-horizon off-shore of Ballina - just a nice short land pipeline from Casino to the coast within the boundaries of a friendly shire (RV).
