Does the exploration side of Cockatoo look like producing more IO
There is a lot more high grade below the current pit... drilling from the past shows this... a bit of inovation will allow for mining of most of the remaining ore...
A cut back and resloping of the existing highwall face would achieve this and also make it look prettier :)
From memory there could be 100 Mt in the orebody.. lets say that they can get at 50% of it.... The cutback would not be all waste, some of it would be lower grade ore that could be used.
They could also go underground.
I think that Cockatoo could become more valuable than Irvine, if they can mine the high grade.... the lower grade stuff on Cockatoo is a bonus.
Irvine will be the icing on the cake...
If so why did PLV get it if that value potentially remains?
Cliffs do not want Cockatoo.. too small for them.. they are running with the big dogs now... They will also get back their environmental bond so the old two birds one stone trick...
