The following was posted by Clare (mother in the smart home family) on Ausgrids Smart Home blog back in April '11

"CFC’s are a very new technology and the unit at the home is a very early model. As with any new technology the price is high and the full potential not yet realised. Although CFC’s do currently have a high purchase cost the purpose of trialing the technology is to fully assess the financial benefits of the unit. We don’t know what the complete financial return is yet, but testing it in the Smart Home will help us find out."
