That's a different way to look at it I guess??
Yes brokers do use DCF's and then they apply P/E's to that valuation.
I simply take the after tax and royalty value and apply a P/E to it and I can tell you that it's a very successful way of valuing ANY company as long as you know the average P/E for that sector.
In the case that there was only 2 more years left in mine life I would then only apply a P/E of between 1-2.
