Charlie's comments must be taken in context of this point in time. It is a dangerous time in my opinion.
Good on you for speaking up now when we may on the verge of having a government led by a leader that is willing to shame our navy by asking them to turn back refugees in leaky boats. A government that denies climate change. A leader that has no economic coherence other than knee jerking.
Australia day should throw up mirrors that we hold up to ourselves. If the picture isn't pretty, or a bit unclear then we should talk it out.
So long as this happens we will still be a great society to live in.
