The theft of English children from orphanages and single mothers was appalling and some recompense is due. However, this was at an individual level.
All indigenous communities have been subject to the genocidal policies over the last few hundred years and the reality is that the stolen children, forced moves to missions, disposession, rape, child abuse and murder has taken a toll on the communities and has made many of them dysfunctional. The view expressed by many on this thread to "just get over it" displays not only a profound lack of empathy but a lack of understanding of the impact of generations of abuse on individuals and communities.
I do not have any magic solutions but trivializing centuries of genocide as done by many on thread (and Howard) will not move us forward.
