however, one theory that crossed my mind is the statistic "interest payments to disposable income for housing" may not necessarily be reflective of the capacity to meet interest payments
for example, houses may have been alot cheaper in the 70's in relation to incomes therefore less of one's income was required to service a mortgage
just because the % of income required to meet a mortgage has risen, this does not mean it is uneconomical
