Hi Play2Win,
If "Koori" is the preferred racial self-adjective for the people descended from those living here at the time of Cook's arrival, then maybe this ought to be adopted more widely.
Alternative terms like "aboriginal," "indigenous" and "traditional owners" are confusingly imprecise, demeaningly generic, and politically and socially loaded.
We are all Australians, but we are also all allowed to precisely identify, and be proud of, our racial descent. How did something so simple get to be so complicated?
Step 1 - Pick a name. Make it unique to avoid hang-ups.
Step 2 - Use it.
