Well, I finally got a reply to my email for an update of the Top 20 Holder Register. Apparently, Computershare were slow to respond. I decided to put the details into a spreadsheet so that I could easily identify any changes at the top.
The results are interesting, as you can see for yourselves. The last update of the register was taken 16 Dec, 2011 and the one I received today was a snapshot taken 1 Feb, 2012.
We now have 4 new top 20 holders, however, one of them is a result of Torey Marshall splitting his holding. All three of the directors appear to have fewer shares than before. It's clear, at least, that Torey hasn't sold any shares. Perhaps Ray Shaw and Norm Zillman have also split their holdings rather than selling. I am guessing that we would have received notification if any of the directors had sold.
Mal Lucas-Smith has disappeared off the list and La Jolla now have an identical holding of 9.7m shares. Coincidence? Also, Merrill Lynch and David Sutton (ex director) are no longer on the list. Nutsville have dropped one position after selling a few.
So, my original thought that Planet Gas were the big sellers turned out to be false. It turns out that our company secretary, Lucas-Smith, Merrill Lynch and David Sutton were the most notable changes, however, we now have La Jolla on our books as a major holder. Not sure how I feel about La Jolla. They are notorious pumpers, but you never know whether they are trying to suppress the price for their own purposes.
