A forestry road on the east coast of Tasmania has been transformed into a scenic drive with walking tracks, picnic spots and interpretative signs. The 29km road through the Wielangta Forest has been launched by Forestry Tasmania and Gunns, and is being promoted as an example of the coexistence of tourism and forestry. Tasmanian Deputy Premier, Paul Lennon, said the opportunity to witness a "working forest" will become a significant attraction. The drive includes the Marion Bay lookout, Jacobson's tree farm, the Three Thumbs picnic area, and a forest mosaic platform.
