Fundamental difference between the US and here is as soon as low skilled jobs become hard to fill the US gets large numbers of legal and illegal immigrates from Mexico and South America.
The supply and demand equation then changes to the disadvantage of the low skilled worker it could be argued.
In Australians case the government generally has to make a conscience decision to allow more people in.
Europe generally tries to keep them out and invests in production in the country of origin.
So the unions and all of us will be governed by supply and demand Nationally and Internationally no mater how much some wish to bluster.
That’s my observations at present.
