PRE-HEARING CONFERENCE FOR ESCARPMENT APPEALS

The Company has been placed in a trading halt pending the outcome of the
Pre-Hearing Conference for appeals against the Escarpment mine project being
held in Christchurch on Monday 13 February 2012.

The Company expects to make a detailed announcement as soon as possible after
the outcome of the hearing is known and to re-commence trading at that time.
