Oil will certainly go up over time. This is certain. However as the USA is becoming more independent and less reliant on imported oil then the rises may not be as sharp as they previously were. Of course these are assumptions and assuming our reliance on hydrocarbons continues as our principal form of energy - which of course may not be the case.
