Mowie,we could be brothers.

Jumped 3 times at Charters Towers.All static.

Small plane,the pilot had a tent and a HOT girl.

Taking off on a paddock 5 seater and curled our way to the jump point at 5000 metres or somewhere thereabouts-what ever,still a long way to fall.

One foot on the strut,the other hanging loose.

A tap on the shoulder and....one thousand,two thousand thr...

Feet above ones head with the pull.

First call is am I still alive!! Thats good!-then the silence.

Just the sigh of the air currents and terra firma approaching rather quickly.

Military chute with steering panels cut, and all around me the pros,dancing on the touch down.

I remember my first,sprained my ankle on a bloody anthill,propped in the shade for the day and finally hit Townsville Base late in the evening.

I was in tears with the pain,(sooky,always have been).

The Triage matron came to check me out,talk about haughty.

Took one look at me and said 'stop snivelling,there are people here in real pain'.

Now I don't mind a tough bitch but that was seriously over the top.

Hurt to the quick,I was.Never got offered a tissue!
