Sorry debdeb, I don't understand it either. My interpretation is that yes the Company will have more outgoings ie tax, but an investor might expect the dividends to carry franking credits. However I'm not an accountant and don't understand what the words say in the announcement so I'm guessing.
PS I've sold my investment in EPX, for no other reason than that I've held the securities since they were issued and this is the best price they've been since then! I suspect they'll go even higher in the longer term but I've had it with the share market so I'm getting out where I can do so without realising too great a loss.
