pie phones at perth airport

Hi All

I was extremely concerned as I'm sure many other holders were after reading Zehav’s recent post claiming the two PIE Webphones at Perth airport have been removed and replaced by ING sponsored wifi so I went there this morning to see for myself.

The only phones deployed at the Perth airport were located in the Qantas domestic terminal not only are the phones still there but there is no ING sponsored wifi. I had my lap top to look for wifi and found three that were unprotected, one is Virgin and free but ridiculously slow, one is Qantas and cost $5.00 per hour the third one wouldn’t open.

When I was in the international departure lounge four weeks ago there was still no free wifi but a few terminals offering slow but free internet which is sponsored by ING.

A picture is worth a thousand words so here are the original pics I took of the phones plus todays and a shot of my computer screen showing what wifi is available at the domestic terminal.

I'm thinking if the whole deal was dead in the water they would have been removed but clearly they are still there.

I feel much better now.
