Yep, no question it is everywhere. It really gets to me when it happens with a nod and a wink from the leaking company. I know someone in the legal industry who was basically encouraged to buy shares on the basis of inside knowledge (which he passed up).
Should I get an SI certificate and join in? Nope, I'd rather not. My ethics aren't perfect, but I hope I have the intelligence to make money from the market without resorting to that.
Its not hard to see who is going to make more money. Someone who trusts their research and buys in the mid-50s when others are dumping or someone who buys for a few cents discount after the s.p. has risen to 90c. I suspect many of these investors are allergic to buying on-market, and it is to their detriment.
