I've started an electricity usage spreadsheet. My family think I'm a bit anal over it but I get a bit personal when the aircon is on set at 24 when it's only 26 outside... and I come home from work and there are 3 lights on at night.. The price of electricity is astronomical...
If I get solar will need a 5KW unit.
Remember we don't have the aircon on everyday, just the days that it is on we use 80kw.
As an example last year Dec-Jan we used 61 units per day equating to $824 fo 2 months. Then Feb-Mar 55 units equaling $724.00.
This year Dec-Jan 42 units $616 and so far to date 41 units.
Trying to keep it under 40, that's my goal.
We also have a pool and spa so the pump adds to the normal electricity usage.
I have resorted to turning tvs etc off at the wall plug which has helped somewhat.
