There is some confusion here so I phoned the company. Those who purchased today and up to 31st Dec 2002 will receive the free options as per announcement below. No confusion it's really quite simple. Nothing to do with settlement dates.
New Option Issues
Shareholders with registered addresses in Australia and New Zealand will be granted, for no consideration, a bonus issue of one new option for every two fully paid ordinary shares which they hold as at 5.00 pm (EDST) 31 December 2002 ('Bonus Issue'). Partly paid shareholders will participate in the Bonus Issue in proportion to the amounts paid up on their shares.
Existing holders of 31 December 2002 options with registered addresses in Australia and New Zealand will be granted an entitlement to acquire one new option for every five 31 December 2002 options which they hold as at 5.00 pm (EDST) 31 December 2002 for consideration of $0.001 per new option ('Entitlement Issue').
