News: iiNet NBN satellite service

    iiNet Limited (ASX:IIN) will launch an NBN satellite service at the end of March.



    The company has told the Australian Financial Review its prices will start from just under $40 a month when bundled with a phone package.



    According to the report the service will offer speeds of 6 megabits per second. That’s up to six times faster than existing satellite plans.



    Customers will get 20 gigabytes of included data in coverage areas.



    For the half year to December, 2011, iiNet reported a net profit of $14 million.
