Type 1 accounts for 10% of all diabetics, however the type 2 diabetics who are not in good control of their sugar levels will still suffer the same consequences as type 1. Also many type 2 diabetics who cannot be controlled by diet and/or tablets will end up on insulin too. Hence they would also benefit from LCT's medical advances. Unfortunately, type 2 diabetes is one of the fastest growing diseases in our society due to our lifestyle and the longer one has it the more likelihood that insulin will be required as the pancreas breaks down and doesnt produce insulin any more.
