I realize Norwest is on the leading edge of shale drilling in Australia. I also realize that this industry has not had time to develop to a phase where Aussie oil services firms would be up to speed on shale horizontal drilling techniques.
Having admitted these things, can anyone think of oil services firms in Australia that derive most of their revenues from drilling, and which have a substantial part of their business in gas drilling?
These shale wells tend to be short-lived and intense. At least this is so in the US. As a result, producers are constantly paying drillers to put up large numbers of wells. There is the potential for a very healthy growth in fracking drill services in Australia. Which companies might benefit from that need?
