This is part of the problem in my view, Amulet
This is why companies like AVB and so many others have so much difficulty gaining traction in the market
Why should this Director get 5 000 000 options? What is wrong with 500 000 options like most companies around the world what do in a company this size?
There is this culture of entitlement...become a Director and somehow you are get this huge signing on fee in addition to your yearly salary to " align your interests with shareholders"...
In most of the companies I'm invested in, the non exec directors have added nothing except their snouts to the trough
So what happens is someone gets 5000 000 mil here...and someone else gets 5000 000 there....and before you know it, we have billions of shares and options in issue and then everyone wonders why the sp is in the toilet
For people who've only invested in Aus companies, most believe this is standard practice...But go and compare it to similar sized companies overseas....The way you as shareholders are taken advantage of will make your hair stand on end
