Few years ago, I saw a homeless guy near QVB. Feeling charitable that day, I took out a $50 note wanting to give it to him.
But he kept walking away from me, not making eye contact.
I tried to catch up with him by walking faster but he had none of it and started walking even faster. So I gave up.
It is not easy to give money away on the street without being thought you are a weirdo.
Since then, I only give money to people who queue up for it.
