Dennis Gartner has supplied us with his rules of trading, which includes rules number 1 and 2 - which say "never ever, under any circumstances add to a losing position" (yes, that is rule number one and rule number two, although I would bet my bottom dollar that he has broken this rule many times).
Gartner also observed that the fighting the market direction is futile - it can maintain it's direction for much longer than we can remain liquid
Others have observed that you should never try to pick the very bottom of a stock, nor the very top - but you should buy when you think it is close to it's low, and sell when you think it is close to it's high.
I tend to think this stock is close to it's low, and whether it be 64, or 66, we will see more upside coming than downside.
The cautious will hold back until they see the direction has changed, then jump on, the less cautious will be onto it earlier, and may need to hold their faith. It is likely that the less cautious will have purchased at a lower net price than the more cautious, but will also have to hold for a longer time.
Enough philosophy for a Saturday afternoon.
