You have it all wrong cats. Its the other way around. You have to ask yourself "why" is it that cultures have this innate tendency to believe in a higher concept like god (whatever they may view that to be at any particular point in time). I suggest it is because we all have an inner voice, so when we come into existence we may not be able to directly put a finger on it, but we feel that there is something greater than us in the background. Whether cultures continue on or fizzle out is irrelevant. God and that outside the normal realms of what we call humanity is eternal and constant, it is up to each one of us to travel along our own personal quests to explore and find the answers.
